Slow Learner

Take care
how you relate.
I didn't
and now
I'm fenced in
tight
by my own mistrust
and paranoia.
Always
on guard
against friend
and foe.
Spelling out
trust
like
I haven't gotta clue.
Now if you don't,
take care
it's a terrible ride.
Fear is the driver
and hate is in the tank.
I can't say
where it ends
because I'm jumping
ship.
It's never to late
to learn how to give.
Right?

Never too late.

Perhaps these words which I've now shared with two others are fitting.

(a line from a letter I received today and my response)

"I too want to dance at the revolution. I just have to cop to the notion that I already know all the steps."

Then just show up! No one knows or has to know all the steps to join in! For god sakes, that's what friends and loved ones and the great beyond are for - to lovingly help you with any steps you may not already know. Plus, there's always the wonderful experience of just feeling one's way through and the joy of experimentation and letting go.
